We are the umbrella organization of the Polish American Community representing over 1 million Polish Americans who live in the State of Illinois. Delegates to the Congress represent over 75 Polish American Organizations. PAC IL Division unites over 3,000 Polish American societies, clubs, and organizations. We have come to represent the fundamental values of American Polonia: dignity of labor; sanctity of one’s home, family, and life; education; and a sense of patriotism. These are our values which have served as a cohesive force within American society.

Nowadays, the Polish American Congress IL Division has maintained its objectives:

  • It fights for an amnesty for illegal immigrants
  • It organizes meetings with the immigrations officials to help and inform Polonia about the most recent procedures and changes
  • It organizes meetings with FAFSA about possible grants for students
  • It strives for the recognition of significant contributions made by Polish Americans to the development of the American society
  • It seeks opportunities for Polish Americans to serve in government posts, politics, and public service
  • It continues to support Polish people in the United States and Poland

October has been designated as Polish American Heritage Month, an annual celebration of pride and accomplishment. The Annual Heritage Banquet has helped to promote and enhance appreciation of Polish American cultural heritage by giving recognition for individuals or organizations for their outstanding work. These awards are given to both Polish Americans and Americans strongly involved in Polonia activities. 

Our task for the future is to build on this proud record and to expand the range of our activities. Thus, we will better serve the interests of the Polish American community and the people of Poland.
